Luther League Auction Work Helps Everybody

Amber and Abby pitched in to get a little spring cleaning done as part of the Luther League Labor Auction.  The kids get funding to help get them to the Luther League convention in New Orleans - the benefactors get eager hands to put to their tasks.  A win-win situation for all.

Sunday School Classes Provide Early Valentine's Gift to Assisted Living and Guttenberg Care Center "family"

On Sunday, February 8th, the preschool, kindergarten and 1st-6th grade Sunday School students from St. John's Church in Guttenberg presented an early Valentines program to the residents of Guttenberg's Assistant Living Center and the Guttenberg Care Center. Joshua Stade's mother, Melissa, played the piano for the students at the Assisted Living Center. The students at the care center were directed by Steph Strader after a fun ride provided by Linda Campbell in a school bus.  We thank them all for their part in making the day special for our “family” of parishioners at the Assisted Living and Care Centers.  After the program the students presented the residents with Valentines they made the week before in Sunday School.

December 28, 2008 Children's Christmas Program

The "Secrets of the Stable" was presented on Sunday, December 28 and was a rousing success.  109 (youth & teachers) and 189 (Moms/Dads/Families) listened in as the stable animals discussed the great event of the birth of Jesus.  It was masterfully directed by Pastor Harold McMillin and Diane Bockenstedt and all the life-sized animal and other props were made by Lynn Moser.  Bravo!  Bravo!

June 8, 2008 35th Anniversary of Pastor Harold's Ordination

Pastor Gerrietts came to help recognize and celebrate the 35th anniversary of Pastor Harold McMillin's ordination - as did many parishioners past and present.  The presence and participation of daughter Denise (and grandkids) and son Tim made it extra special.  All enjoyed the program and celebration dinner.
