June 6-10, 2005 Community Vacation Bible School. 130 kids (3yrs-7th grade) and 60 adult/youth teachers and helpers journeyed through The Serengeti Trek to learn about God's word. THE WHOLE GROUP Preschool Class (outside on steps) Kindergarten Class (inside)
First Grade Second Grade Third Grade Fourth Grade Fifth Grade Sixth-Seventh Grade
Serengeti Eddie (Pastor Jarad), Serengeti Betty (Sheryl Nelson), and Itty-Bitty Serengeti Betty (Kim Nelson) kicked off each day with rousing music and skits
Louise Johnson - Snack Coordinator and Jolynn Moore (she's camera shy) Snack Helper where assisted by many hands in the kitchens of United Methodist, St. Paul and St. John's. The "watering hole" was a favorite stopping off place for young and old. Kathy Nieland and Jody Fosdal did a wonderful job designing crafts for all ages. Even Mary Streich, Preschool-1st Grade Craft coordinator liked the safari binoculars. (You can't hide in the kitchen Kathy). Pastor Harold came in to do the Mane Event Closing each day and sometimes was joined by youth volunteers to dramatize the point.
No matter the age or the activity, everyone seemed to have a lot of fun and took home some valueable lessons and ideas to share with their families, their school and their community. CONGRATS ON ANOTHER YEAR OF FUN, UPLIFTING VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!!
