We Give |

We give because God first gave to us.
We can’t repay God for the gift of life. “...nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things.” - Acts 17:23
And we can’t repay God’s providence. “His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who calls us by his own glory and goodness.” 2nd Peter 1:3 |

We give in response to the Gospel, not in response to a budget.
We believe that God gave each of us life, and that God has mercifully sustained each of us from the moment of that beginning.
We believe that in our baptisms, God gave each of us eternal life, the forgiveness of our sins, and deliverance from the power of the devil.
We believe that God gave us one another in the community of faith called the Church.
We believe God continues to bless us each and every day with a victory won for us by Jesus’ death and resurrection.
And we believe our offerings are a sign of what we think of God’s gifts.
When we give thanks to God through our offerings, Bethany becomes a place where the Gospel happens in the lives of children and adults alike.
We become a people who, by living generously, reflect to the world just how loving God really is.
And this is good—because it’s about God. It’s not about us. |

We certainly can’t buy salvation.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” - Ephesians 2:8
But we can show our thankfulness by helping to share God’s life-giving, saving Word. |

We can’t buy forgiveness.
“All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him received forgiveness of sins through his name.” Acts 10:43 |
