CHILD IN OUR HANDS

Our "Child in Our Hands" program has begun it's third year here at Zion Lutheran Church! We're hoping to keep "growing" this program in our goal of passing faith on to our children. The Children, Youth, & Family committee has overall responsibility for this program. The Child in Our Hands Task Force members are Roni Sue Koch, Val O'Brien, Colleen Marrs and Marie Reyner. If you have any ideas or comments, please share them with us!

MARCH 2006 MILESTONES

In March, some of our pre-school children will celebrate a faith milestone. The "Bible Talk" faith milestone is for those children born between 9/16/02 and 9/15/03 or those who didn't start Sunday School this fall. On Sunday, March 12, 2006, "Bible Talk" will be observed at both Worship Services and during the Sunday School hour.

FEBRUARY 2006 MILESTONES

Two Child in our Hands milestones were celebrated in February. "God Loves Me" was celebrated February 12th, 2006, for 1 and 2 year olds and their parents. A gathering of children and their parents was held from 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM and the hardcover book God Bless Me, God Bless You by Lois Rock was presented at both worship services.

"Devotions" for 4th graders and their parents was presented at church services on February 26, 2006,
and a special presentation was held during Sunday School time.

JANUARY 2006 MILESTONES

A "Baptism Reunion" was celebrated January 8th, 2006
All children baptized at Zion from September 16, 2004 to September 15, 2005 were recognized at the 10:30 AM worship service. Confirmation youth designed and carried banners for each child recognized. The banners were presented to the children during a special baptism renewal service. A brunch was held for the children, their parents, sponsors and faith mentors following the worship service. These children will all begin Sunday School at the same time.

OCTOBER 2005 MILESTONES

3rd Grade: "Bible Adventures" for third graders and their parents.
Bibles were given to 3rd graders at the 8:00 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. worship service.
A special time of exploring the bible was held for the 3rd graders and their parents during the Sunday School hour.

9th Grade: "Affirmation of Baptism" for ninth graders completing confirmation.
Candlelight worship was held on Saturday, October 29th, 2005 at 5:00 PM.
"Affirmation of Baptism" was celebrated at the 10:30 A.M. Worship Service on October 30th, 2005.
